Space Coast Sled Hockey, a 501c (3) nonprofit organization, is a competitive sled hockey team located in Brevard County, Florida. Sled Hockey is an adaptive sport for anyone not able to play stand up hockey. The players are single and double amputees and paraplegics. They are disabled veterans, adults who’ve suffered car and motorcycle accidents, and those with birth defects like spina bifida, autism and MS. Our players come primarily from Brevard County, with some coming from Orange, Seminole, and Indian River Counties. We have also raised and developed three Team USA sled hockey players.
The 2018-2019 season was a banner year for the program. The youth team won a National Championship in April. They are the #1 Under-18 sled hockey team in the USA. Our adult team won their third consecutive Southeast Sled Hockey League (SESHL) championship and was the NHL Sled Classic winner in Tier IV.
Our players demonstrate determination, perseverance, and a spirit to enjoy life. We strive to ensure that money is not an obstacle to our players’ participation. Due to all the medical expenses and other expenses these players endure, the goal is to create a healthy lifestyle that will support them in both physical and mental health. We are looking for corporate sponsors and private donations for our adaptive sled hockey teams. Your support will help us build upon our success this upcoming season. The two travel teams have many exciting games scheduled this year. Our reigning National Champion youth team has been invited to play Russia in the 1st ever youth international games.
Our Facebook page: Space Coast Blast Sled Hockey reaches over 1,500 people on Facebook. More than 500 people attend each of our annual events that take place throughout Brevard County. Our teams travel throughout Florida (Tampa, West Palm) for games as well as to other states such as Michigan, Missouri, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, California and Pennsylvania, where your logo will be prominently displayed on our banner.
