TRAILS OF PURPOSE

Trails of Purpose (TOP) is a 501(c)(3) accredited PATH Int'l (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) center. We are fighting to create an innovative veteran community. We are passionate about creating a safe haven for veterans and their loved ones in which relationships with both humans and horses can thrive. We operate at no cost to our participants.

We focus on military community to address the root causes of veteran-related suicides as a result of trauma experienced. This can be in the form of PTSD, Social Anxiety, Social Displacement or Isolation, and/or Physical Trauma. In efforts to bring the community together, we serve communal meals at every single one of our classes, as well as incorporate team equine (horse) activities. These equine activities range in their content, but they always focus on veteran interaction both with humans and with animals. We also make sure our veteran participants are physically challenged during each of our classes through horse handling and care.

Trails of Purpose services veterans of all branches of the military, and all ages. We have working relationships with Landing Zone Grace Warrior Retreat and Foundation, USSOCOM Warrior Care Coalition, and the United Way, to name a few. We continue to receive referrals from the Veteran Crisis Line, VA Hampton Medical Center, Warrior Care Coalition, NSW Group 2 providers, VHP, Mission United, Portsmouth Medical Center, local military command talk bosses. These unique partnerships allow us to expand our services to Special Forces groups as well as the general military population. By bringing in various professionals in the mental health field, we can offer counseling services and guided meditation at no cost. We focus on the bio-psycho-social-spiritual wellness of the veteran.

Trails of Purpose recognizes and values the need for a deeper healing solution for our military members in their fight against trauma. We work ceaselessly to offer support to each military member and their surviving family members in their journey to overcome. These men and women have fought for us and sacrificed so much of their lives. We feel passionate that it is our duty to give back.
