Over the last few years, it has become apparent that we have spent a wealth of funds on boat hire. While we enjoy supporting individuals and small businesses, we realize those funds could have contributed towards a vessel of our own. We visualize a future with our own skiff/flats boat, captained by a local Bahamian we have worked with for many years.
This small boat will allow us access to narrow, shallow creeks in search of sawfish and other cryptic life. In addition, we plan to stay loyal to our main captain whose larger boat provides us access to deeper, more challenging waters such as Andros’s Tongue of the Ocean. This joint collaboration between vessels would save us funds while offering unlimited access to the ocean and maintaining local relationships and growth.
We are seeking funding for an ~18ft vessel ($17,500) and a single motor ($7,500), totaling $25,000. This figure includes all taxes for us to import the boat into The Bahamas.
