Our Story
G4G is a mobile feeding ministry that provides healthy meals in areas where they are not always an option. G4G is equipped to cook and serve everything on the go - we provide those delicious meals for free to the homeless, lower income families, children, veterans and impoverished individuals, without exception.
G4G usually provides meals on Saturday to fill the gap between the regular feeding programs (such as Meals on Wheels and public-school feeding programs) and the need for feeding programs on weekends. Our events are held in communities where the average family income is less than $26,000 a year, and on many occasions, it is much less. We advertise our community feeding events through our community partners, social media, schools, shelters, and any other organization that could reach our target audience.
Who and How We Serve
G4G provides hot and healthy meals to people who may not have the opportunity to purchase such meals. G4G did host 40 events in 2025, in low-income communities. The total cost for 40 events is approximately $168,000. We will serve 400 people at an average event. The total fed for 2025 has impacted 14,500 individuals. At each event we provide a meal consisting of¼ of a whole chicken, baked beans, cold slaw, bread, dessert, and a bottle of water.
In the days leading up to the event we gather the food and supplies for preparation. We send out volunteer sign-up sheets to ensure we have enough people grilling and serving on the day of the event.
We are an almost entirely volunteer driven organization, with only our Executive Director taking a salary.
Day of the event - Our grill team arrives at 8am to cook. The serving team and impact team arrive at 10:30am. We provide a minimum of 60 hours of community service at each event. An average event has at least 15 volunteers and totals over 900 hours of community service. G4G actively plans for the entire community to be represented at each event. We partner with the local community organizations that provide services such as homeless ministries, Housing Authority, Drug Rehabilitation Centers, staffing agencies, job training, community college, food banks, churches and community leaders.
What We Need
Charitable donations and Grants
Our ability to provide these feeding events is entirely predicated on the generosity of grants, fund raising events and private in-kind donations. We are a totally not for profit organization.
Walk-In Freezer
G4G relies on donations to serve our community. We often have to turn away food donations because we do not have the capacity to store it. With the addition of a walk-in
freezer, we can take large donations of food, as well as take advantage of bulk-buying discounts: from our suppliers. If we can store chicken for a month's worth of events, rather than buying it for each individual event, the cost to G4G will go down. This includes not only the cost of the chicken but the transportation costs to get the chicken, as well. G4G Ministries currently drives an hour each way to pick up chickens prior to an event. Having to do this once a month or once every other month will significantly reduce fuel costs, as well as wear and tear on our vehicles.
