OPERATION COMBAT BIKESAVER INC

CROWN POINT, Indiana

Mission Operation Combat Bikesaver is committed to helping Veterans who protected us by protecting them from the temptations of suicide. We believe that veteran and military suicide prevention must be a national priority. Each day an average of 22 Veterans commit suicide due to feelings of abandonment by family, friends, and their government. The mission of Operation Combat Bikesaver is to foster dignity as we re-introduce self-worth to our veterans and military personnel who have been physically, mentally, and emotionally damaged by the realities of military service and combat. Through our efforts, we hope to give new life to the men and women who have served our country by reducing the suicide rate for our warriors. At Operation Combat Bikesaver, life begins anew when we understand and accept these men and women as they are and help them develop their gifts and talents as they embrace and contribute to one another and society. We have developed regional programs targeting veterans and military personnel. We accomplish our mission through a concept known as “Hotrod Therapy.” This process improves coping skills, introduces a safe harbor for fellowship with other veterans, and encourages the use of one’s gifts and talents to inspire and motivate a new direction in their lives. By participating in this outlet, Operation Combat Bikesaver yields proud and productive patriots to once again contribute to our community. Process Through “Hotrod Therapy” we introduce Veterans to building, fabricating, welding and painting to resurrect something that was once damaged and forgotten into something new and truly unique while rebuilding themselves at the same time.. We believe that breathing new life into tarnished motorcycles by honing in on learned skill sets will relinquish the deafening grasp PTSD / TBI / Depression has on Veterans. By creating distinctive works of art, those candidates can give back to others suffering in a brotherhood of unity, targeting relief to the chaos of one's own mind. We have lost way too many to PTSD / TBI and Depression. All of us here at Operation Combat Bikesaver (OCB) have lost someone to the after effects of defending their country and community. We would love nothing more than to help our Heroes return to feeling normal again. During fellowship at OCB, we often discover that many Veterans are in need of other forms of assistance. They are hesitant to ask for help, because they were trained to be strong regardless of the situation. We wish for our supporters to see the “human” side of our Veterans. The experiences many of them face can only be imagined by the people they served. As a result, we have also created the “Blaster Program.”

Specific Purpose
Operation Combat Bikesaver provides a workshop for Veterans suffering from PTSD and/or TBI and/or Depression. This workshop includes trained individuals skilled in various areas of motorcycle fabrication, restoration, and customization to help teach candidates that there is more to life than they could imagine. Once the project (motorcycle or piece of art) is completed by the candidate, it is theirs to keep or donate to another candidate of their choosing at no cost ... Lire la suite
