Building a Welcoming Community in Greater Northampton

Manna Soup Kitchen’s commitment to the Northampton community spans decades from its founding by St. John’s Episcopal Church.

Today, Manna is a standalone nonprofit, serving over 500 meals per week between St. John’s kitchen and Edwards Church. Meals are available:

The number of meals served doesn’t tell the whole story. Our efforts to provide high-quality food to our hungry neighbors has created a remarkable community. The guests who are welcomed at Manna meals come from varied backgrounds including homelessness, those who live in subsidized housing or shelters, and any one who suffers from food insecurity. We serve veterans, the underemployed, families, those who have hit a rough patch, and those who are passing through. Our volunteers are an essential part of this community as well. Local college and high-school students, retirees, and others show up weekly to chop, serve, and offer friendship and a smile to all who attend.
