NTC helps educators to build better, more effective schools. We believe that every student, from preschool through high school, deserves an excellent and equitable education that empowers them to reach their full potential in classrooms, communities, and beyond.
Today, over 50 million Pre K-12 students are systemically underserved. In an effort to confront systemic issues head-on, educators can often only manage inequities, not dismantle them. Schools experience fragmentation, professional development is siloed, teachers leave, students hurt. Educators on the front lines of learning — from district superintendents to new and the most veteran teachers — struggle against the harmful, yet highly predictable, outcomes of inequitable systems. Yet too often they are left under-supported to address the real problems that hide behind test scores and measurements.
That means areas and student populations with the greatest need are often left unattended and underserved: BIPOC students, students with learning differences, students experiencing poverty, immigrant students, and English-language learners. NTC offers a better way forward.
We partner with school districts to co-create thriving, inclusive cultures, where all students succeed in heart and mind. Together, we co-create environments that deliver ever-present attention to equity, academic rigor, and social and emotional growth. Where every educator is supported. Where every young person feels seen, connected, and challenged to succeed academically. And where student-teacher trust is unshakable. Research proves that when kids feel seen, they learn more. That’s why our programs prioritize equity throughout a school’s ecosystem and center on systemically underserved students.
NTC works with all kinds of districts — rural, suburban, urban. Our national reach, decades of experience, and variety of adaptable programs allow us to tailor our solutions to each school’s unique needs and challenges. In 2023, we served 9,441 schools across 1,026 school districts in 29 states. Through these partnerships, we served 4.8 million students and 284,978 educators.
Educators trust NTC because our approach works. Independent research reveals that when schools and districts partner withNTC good things happen. A federal study shows that our work delivers cost savings through increased teacher retention and improved student outcomes. Notably, after two years of NTC support, teacher retention in one district increased by 22 points, and 90 percent of NTC-trained mentors and coaches remained in their districts after five years.
NTC was founded 20 years ago by a group of teachers who knew from experience that successful students depended on successful teachers. Teachers who were confident, empathic, and supported in the continuous improvement of their craft. Our coaching model continues to expand and evolve from our founders’ simple but powerful understanding. We serve schools and districts large and small, with customized coaching-based programs that tap your people's assets. Together, we meet targeted needs to enable the right conditions for system-wide educator engagement with coaching. The result: Teachers get the skills and support needed to create optimal learning environments that accelerate the academic success of all students and nurture their social-emotional growth.
