Communities everywhere increasingly face unprecedented challenges: natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, wildfires and forest fires, mass shootings of “soft targets” in workplaces, shopping centers, schools, and the most unlikely places. The public discourse has become toxic and public servants face workdays full of tragedies that we would never want to see. Sleep deprivation is a huge problem due to the highly charged environments and events of the day, resulting in daytime fatigue on the job.
