Teach For America – Colorado’s (TFA) mission is to build the movement to provide educational opportunity to all by enlisting our nation’s most promising future leaders in the effort. We recruit, select, train, and support a highly selective corps of college graduates, graduate students, and career-changing professionals who are proven leaders who serve in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo and come to understand the challenges facing our education system and become champions for education throughout their lives. That lifelong pursuit of ensuring an excellent education for all students commences with a two-year commitment to serve as a classroom teacher in an underserved urban or rural community. Beyond those initial two years, teaching remains the single most popular career among the over 1,300 alumni living in Colorado. Nearly 70 percent of our members continue working full-time in education and almost 90 percent of TFA alumni work full-time in education or with low-income communities. Ultimately, we seek to build an unstoppable movement focused on creating systemic change from both inside and outside the classroom.
