BUTTON HOLE

Button Hole is a short course and teaching center designed to reduce golf’s barriers of cost, inaccessibility and playing time. Located in Providence, Rhode Island and in a multi-cultural, urban environment, we are open to the public and operate as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our 26 acre site is a reclaimed gravel pit that has been transformed into an "oasis of green" providing a safe and fun environment for youth and the public to enjoy this great game.

Our focus is on the young people. Instructional programs include the etiquette, rules, history and traditions of the game. Mentoring of our urban youth by our community is strongly encouraged. Button Hole partners with local schools and community organizations (such as Providence After School Alliance (PASA), West End Community Center, Providence Recreation Center, Special Olympics Rhode Island, etc.). Annually over 1,000 local youth participate in our instructional golf programs, participate in golf leagues and golf clinics. Button Hole is one of the largest qualifying sites for the annual Augusta National Drive Chip & Putt contest.

Bordering wetlands, our site serves as a classroom where respect for our environment is fostered.

Button Hole gives boys and girls a chance to discover and play the game of golf where life’s lessons of honesty, humility and perseverance are experienced.

In addition to the youth programs Button Hole provides a robust set of programs for Veterans and their families. The course and range are open to the public and are fully handicap accessible.
