Courageous Journeys Backpacking

Courageous Journeys Backpacking is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting female veterans dealing with PTSD. We offer free, guided backpacking trips at the breathtaking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Our mission is centered on promoting healing, fostering resilience, and building a strong sense of community among women who have bravely served their country.

Our transformative outdoor experiences are designed to help women reconnect with themselves, form meaningful bonds with fellow veterans, and immerse themselves in the natural world. By doing so, we aim to aid their recovery journey, providing a unique and supportive environment where they can find solace and strength.
