EduSkate seeks to make skateboarding a safe, accessible, creative, and transformative experience for children and youth within an inclusive community of supportive peers and adult mentors. Our purpose is to facilitate the experience of skateboarding as both a healthy, fun, and creative outlet as well as a transformative vehicle for young people to realize and grow toward their greatest potential. We guide children and youth to develop skills on and off a board–from mastering the perfect carve or flip trick to exemplifying leadership qualities, such as self-confidence, perseverance, innovative thinking, empathy, and a growth mindset. We believe in the importance of creating a diverse and inclusive community where children and youth not only explore their multifaceted identities, but also connect with others across cultural and socioeconomic differences to forge meaningful friendships. Ultimately, we hope to support young people in realizing their self-worth, numerous assets, and power to achieve their goals and contribute significantly to their communities.
