Nowhere Fast Presents is a community-rooted booking and documentation project that brings
culturally significant artists—particularly from the 2000s alt-rock, emo, and punk scenes—into
small venues for curated shows that prioritize emotional impact, accessibility, and storytelling.
The project’s mission is to reconnect legacy and mid-career bands with fans who rarely get to
experience them in intimate, meaningful settings. Some events are designed as benefits for urgent
causes, while others focus on preserving culture, fostering scene continuity, or creating rare
collaborative moments. Every show is paired with documentation in the form of photography,
writing, and zine-style media.
This idea was sparked by the success of the All-American Rejects’ House Party Tour, which
proved how much artists and fans alike crave more personal, purpose-driven performance spaces.
Nowhere Fast takes that ethos and applies it on a grassroots level, partnering with community-
run venues and creating artful archives of each show.
The project aligns with IAM’s mission by empowering independent print media, fostering
cultural engagement, and facilitating civic participation through collaborative, DIY cultural
work. It invites artists and fans to actively shape the kind of music scene they want to see—one
that centers intention, access, and community over commercialism.
