Amrita Kathak Global (AKG) is dedicated to preserving and promoting Kathak dance. One of the eight major classical dances of India, Kathak embodies tayari (strength and stamina), layakari (understanding of rhythm), khubsoorti (beauty and grace), and nazakat (delicacy of beauty). As a storytelling dance, Kathak is a unique form of expression through movement.
Our mission is to build and foster a global community through Kathak dance. We offer classes for beginners to advanced students both online and in-person in San Francisco. In addition, we host online workshops with international artists and recognized experts in the field of Indian classical dance and music.
