Every year, the Northern Nevada Moses Project steps into the lives of foster, kinship, and guardianship families who have opened their homes to children in crisis. These families say “yes” when it matters most—often with little notice, limited resources, and hearts full of compassion.
But in rural Northern Nevada, that “yes” comes with challenges many never see.
Grocery stores are far away. Food prices are higher. Support services are scarce. And during the holidays, when budgets are already stretched thin, the weight on these families becomes even heavier.
That is why our Turkey Dinner Program exists.
Each year, we deliver full Thanksgiving meals—turkeys, sides, and all the fixings—to families caring for foster children across rural Northern Nevada. These meals do more than fill a table. They fill a home with warmth, dignity, and the feeling that someone cares.
This year, the need is greater than ever.
And we have set a bold, urgent goal:
Feed 300 families across rural Northern Nevada.
Three hundred families who have stepped up for children who needed safety.
Three hundred families who are doing everything they can.
Three hundred families who deserve to feel supported, seen, and valued.
