4B DISASTER RESPONSE NETWORK

Our continuing mission (as funding allows) is serving our community by helping our target groups recover from natural or man-made disasters. These target groups include, the disabled, the elderly, widows, single parents, and veterans. Our experience has shown that these folks are usually the last to get back to "normal" after a disaster.
At the same time, we are working to finish out our Disaster Shelter/Operations Center in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season. Our facility will have a large warehouse, sleeping/bathroom/laundry facilities for approximately 100 displaced persons post storm (including a few with disabilities in our ADA compliant two bedroom apartment). It will also have a large conference room, dining area to seat about 75, and a commercial kitchen capable of serving about 3,000 meals a day to feed not only those temporarily housed here, but the community in need as well. Our greatest need at this time is funding to:
1) Continue serving the under-served in our target groups who haven't recovered from previous disasters.
2) Complete renovation of our building in order to serve as needed during the 2024 hurricane season.
3) Provide an operational budget for the facility to continue serving, in new ways, between disasters.
