This event is put on to help bring awareness and help combat Veteran suicide, by bringing Veterans and the community together through Food and Fun. It gets Veterans out of their heads and homes to engage with those they live with and around. They learn that there is a host of people they can reach out to for assistance or companionship. The event serves also as a way to gather more funding to be able to put on more events in the future as more and more Veterans come back from conflicts only to deal with the affects alone. At the event they will have access to Veteran organization that can help them access veteran benefits and services. The community impact is that by connecting Veterans to the activities and the community helps lessen the chance that a Veteran would become or stay homeless, as well as stay or become addicted to drugs/alcohol or commit criminal acts to survive. Your contributions will enable this organization to continue its mission in bringing Veterans now and in the future all the way home after their service in combat zones.
