Agape Acres has a total of 18 therapy horses ranging in size from a miniature donkey to an 18 hand Percheron (pictured) . The ages of our therapy herd also vary from 13 to 29 and with those ranges in age come different feeding, supplement and veterinary needs. Some of our horses have chronic back or hoof problems due their previous lives and/or jobs therefore it's our responsibility to provide the best nutrition and care for them. Our herd is the reason we are able to serve our community with equine assisted programs in therapeutic riding lessons, ground school programs and trauma restoration programs.
The cost to feed our therapy herd and provide the needed dental, chiropractic and veterinary care they require on an annual basis is approximately $30,500.00.
