Core Life Link’s Food Security Program is an ongoing initiative created in response to an urgent need we witness firsthand in Daytona Beach. Individuals experiencing homelessness and severe financial hardship regularly search through garbage near our clinic looking for something to eat. Others tell us that their limited income forces them to make an impossible decision: purchase food, pay for their medications, or cover another essential expense.
For individuals living with HIV, hepatitis C, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and other chronic health conditions, food insecurity can have serious medical consequences. Some medications must be taken with food, and inadequate nutrition can affect treatment tolerance, medication adherence, disease management, and overall recovery. No one should have to skip a meal to afford medication—or go without medication so their family can eat.
Because hunger and financial hardship do not have an end date, this program operates year-round and provides assistance as needs arise and funding is available. Core Life Link provides emergency food assistance, nutritious food boxes, grocery gift cards, shelf-stable pantry items, nutrition resources, and referrals to longer-term community support.
Ongoing donations allow us to respond when someone comes to our clinic hungry or when a nearby individual or family has nowhere else to turn. Your contribution can place healthy food directly into the hands of a person in need, help a patient continue treatment safely, and provide immediate relief during a financial crisis.
Food is more than nourishment—it is a critical part of healthcare, stability, and human dignity.
