de GLOBAL FUND SAN FRANCISCO CORPORATIONOn August 26, a glacial lake outburst flood that started on the Chinese border in the Xizang/Tibet region caused serious flooding and mudslides in northern Nepal and along the border. The number of confirmed deaths exceeds 150, and hundreds more are still missing. Many homes, roads, bridges, power stations, and other important infrastructure have been destroyed or severely damaged. Several bridges and roads have been washed away, making it very difficult to reach some affected areas. Your Donation Supports Oxfam-America Inc. Oxfam is closely monitoring the situation in Nepal and coordinating with government, partners, and humanitarian organizations to assess the needs of people in the region impacted. International Committee of the Red Cross IFRC is releasing emergency funding to support the Nepal Red Cross Society's response to the severe flash flooding in norther Nepal. The funding will help the Nepal Red Cross respond to urgent needs while teams assess the scale of the destruction and identify communities requiring assistance.
