Effective training and employment services leading to successful job placement and retention are Goodwill’s two core competencies.

Goodwill targets at-risk populations who face multiple challenges to finding employment due to having an extended absence from the job market (as often seen in both our veterans and dislocated worker populations); skill gaps or insufficient skills; a history of incarceration or substance abuse; a disability; or other unique challenges an individual cannot resolve without assistance.

The organization gives struggling Nevadans access to skills training, vocational training, on-the-job training, job search tools, career advice, one-on-one counseling, job leads as well as essential supportive services to help them find and keep a job.

Supportive services may include bus passes, gas cards, rent or mortgage assistance, work IDs, employment cards, childcare assistance, interview clothing, industry-specific clothing or tools, and other necessary items.
