Math Teachers' Circle Network

de American Institute of Mathematics

Math Teachers' Circles (MTCs) bring teachers together with mathematicians in a professional environment for mathematical problem solving. The goals are to engage teachers in thinking deeply about mathematics and to build a community of mathematics professionals dedicated to improving education for all students.

MTCs have been endorsed as a high-quality, ongoing professional learning opportunity by the Conference Board of Mathematical Sciences. Research shows that Math Teachers' Circles increase teachers' enthusiasm for mathematics and their belief that all students are capable of doing challenging math.

Established at the American Institute of Mathematics in 2006, the national Math Teachers' Circle Network helps start new MTCs across the U.S. and provides organizational resources to support their activities. Our network now includes 150 Member Circles in 38 states.
