Level Up! Vocal Ensemble's mission is to promote video game music through public performance, while building a supportive and fun community where members can level up their musicianship and share their creativity and passion. Our vision is that video game music is appreciated and enjoyed by an ever-growing community. We are a non-auditioned adult community chamber choir for singers of all backgrounds and skill levels. We pride ourselves on being a teaching choir where members share their skills and knowledge with each other, and have opportunities to explore and develop their musical abilities and interests. We also maintain an active Discord server for members to connect, learn, and socialize year-round. Our membership skews to young adults who enjoy video game music, though we welcome members of all ages and interests. We strive to maintain a respectful and supportive space, and are a LGBTQIA2+ welcoming ensemble. We ask for optional dues contributions to help us cover the cost of our rehearsal space, supplies, and performance expenses. The suggested amount is $75 per concert cycle ($150 annually) but we do not want cost to be a barrier to anyone and invite members to pay what they can. Level Up! Vocal Ensemble (LU!VE) operates on a shared/collaborative leadership model with an all-volunteer working board. We have nine current board members and seven active board guilds (committees) who complete work on the ensemble's behalf: Accounting, Admin Operations, Artistic Performance, Audience Development, AV Production, Community Building, and IT Comms (a full list of guild descriptions & members can be provided). We do not have a designated artistic director. As an ensemble, we rehearse two seasons a year (spring/summer and fall/winter) and have been a renter at Phinney Neighborhood Center since 2022. We produce our own concerts twice a year, and also perform with other ensembles and at conventions and festivals in and around Seattle. Performances are not mandatory for choir members, as we support members at all stages of their musical journey and want everyone to be comfortable and welcomed in our ensemble. We also have a number of active, self-taught arrangers as members who develop the majority of the music we perform.
