Grave Dedication Ceremonies

Compatriot Grave Marking ceremonies follow the protocol outlined in the Patriot Records Committee for the National Society Sons of the American Revolution Grave Marking Manual. The services are conducted by the local chapters of the Washington State Society to honor Compatriots with an unveiling of a new grave marker or lug. The service involves elements from US Military funerals, Church funerals, the traditions, wishes and customs of the Patriot’s family, the traditions, wishes and customs of the organization conducting the service, and the customs, wishes and traditions of the location of the grave site to include the church where the grave is located if appropriate. Our goal is to mark 1 compatriot grave by 2025.
