Food for Life Program
de INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY FOR KRISHNA CONSCIOUSNESS OF WASHINGTONAbout the Program:
Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON's Founder-acarya, is the inspiration behind Food Distribution. He stated in 1972 that "No one within ten miles of an ISKCON temple should go hungry." Since that time ISKCON devotees have expanded a global network of free food restaurants, mobile services and relief programs establishing daily delivery routes in many large cities around the world.
Food For Life Program Via International Society For Krishna Consciousness Of Washington aka Vedic Cultural Center (VCC) distribute prasadam (sanctified food) 7 days a week with a special feast every Sunday evening. Anyone who walks into our temple gets a full plate of fresh nutritious vegetarian meal for free irrespective of race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, ancestry, age, veteran status, disability.
Steve Jobs once mentioned this program that he used to walk 6 miles every Sunday to get a Full meal every sunday in his earlier days.
