Fuel for the Future
A Socks For The Streets Youth Recovery Program
Fuel for the Future is a recovery-focused youth program designed to support students in recovery high schools through connection, nourishment, and empowerment. Socks For The Streets visits recovery high schools to meet students where they are—creating a safe, supportive space centered on healing, growth, and community.
During each visit, our team brings food and cooks with the students, encouraging teamwork and life-skills while preparing healthy meals together. Students share the meal as a group, building connection and a sense of belonging. To support stability beyond the school day, we also provide take-home meals and healthy food options.
Each session includes a facilitated circle where students participate in positive activities focused on self-expression, resilience, accountability, and peer support. These moments encourage open conversation, mutual respect, and personal growth in a non-judgmental environment.
Throughout the year, Fuel for the Future also provides essential support items, including hygiene products and new sneakers, helping students feel confident, cared for, and prepared for daily life. Students are additionally invited to volunteer at Socks For The Streets community outreach events, offering them the opportunity to give back, build purpose, and strengthen their recovery through service.
Fuel for the Future is about more than meals—it’s about fueling confidence, connection, and hope for what’s ahead.
