A 2 hour support group that offers intro to paddle boarding, mental health education and guidance to area mental health agencies in Pinellas County, Florida. Under the guidance of Nannette Prevost, a surgical nurse of 36 years, a widow to suicide , a American Foundation of Suicide Prevention state facilitator of "Talk Saves Lives" to recognize the signs & symptoms of failing mental health and a NAMI certified Mental Health Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) . Paddle for Prevention is for individuals, families or peer groups that address mental health issues and provides healing using water and nature therapy with mentorship. It is a way to connect with others for support by collaborating with local mental health first aiders, first responders, survivors of suicide and area athletes. Each participant will receive a Suicide Swag Bag for free services to area mental health services of support with NAMI taught by suicide survivors, referrals to area clinics for help and access to furniture and clothing. This program will work towards trust, confidence and courage. Paddling in nature is intended to relieve anxiety, and to establish calmness. Water Therapy uses paddle boards, kayaks and floating inflatable accessories. All equipment is provided.
