Mission to use digital assets to heat 40acres of green houses in above 2200 above Sea level to grow fresh food in Rural food desert.
When IT & AG Combine. With the help of a private company, our nonprofit has been able to build a greenhouse heated via a digital asset data center. (The greenhouse was donated by a second, unrelated private company.) This is a proof of concept, people, and process. Once we have that all dialed in, the same company will make an additional 40 acres of land available for development and will continue the availability of free heat. We have a dedicated team on site and a liaison with a higher institute of learning, also on site.
A recent, third-party survey determined this area to be a food desert. We will grow nutritionally dense and valuable food while eliminating the vast distances and carbon footprint of tracking food across the country picked green to be sort of ripe when they arrive at stores. Think of a large farm stand in the heart of a food desert.
This is a seedling project to lead to 40 acres which will then be replicable elsewhere across the country and there is no reason for not the world. This is a paradigm shift in communities doing it for themselves and why not dream big?
