WHO WE ARE

US Vet Connect Inc. is a veteran-founded 501(c)(3) national nonprofit dedicated to helping as many veterans and their families as possible, for as long as possible — while raising awareness of the challenges they face long after the uniform comes off.

Founded in 2020 by veterans, for veterans. Never accepted federal funding. Never run an advertisement. Never charged a veteran a dollar. Never gone dark. Every program, every dollar, and every decision is driven by one question: does this help a veteran?

We are building America's Outdoor Wheel of Service — the nation's first full-circle outdoor ecosystem for veterans — connecting every veteran, wherever they stand, to rescue, discovery, healing, conservation, and community. We leave no veteran behind — on the trail or on the sidewalk.

THE CRISIS WE EXIST TO SOLVE

17 to 18 veterans die by suicide every single day. Veterans are 7% of the population but account for nearly 14% of all US suicide deaths. Since 2001, more than 120,000 veterans have been lost to suicide — more than all American combat deaths since Vietnam. Nearly 33,000 veterans experience homelessness on any given night. In the first year after leaving service, the veteran suicide rate reaches 46.2 per 100,000 — the most dangerous window in a veteran's life.

The cause is isolation. Loss of mission. The absence of brotherhood. Untreated PTSD. A broken transition into a world that no longer speaks their language. The problem is not a lack of resources. The problem is a broken connection. We are the bridge.

SPOKE ONE — RESCUE: OPERATION FULL MUSTER

Tens of thousands of veterans cycle through streets, jails, and state hospitals while their earned VA benefits sit unused. They are not hard to find. They are hard to reach — without a legal pathway most organizations do not have.

Operation Full Muster is that pathway.

Licensed field operatives locate severely ill, homeless, and addicted veterans on streets and in institutions. Operating under a VA-DOJ legal pathway, our pipeline documents each veteran's military service, medical status, and legal situation — then files direct petitions to the VA Office of General Counsel and state courts to restore their earned federal care. AI-assisted court docket scanning identifies veterans inside legal systems and flags intervention opportunities in real time.

Every intervention is governed by a non-negotiable Chain of Custody Guarantee: earned federal care, federal hands, always. No veteran is transferred to state custody. No veteran is abandoned at a handoff point.

Our July 4, 2026 pilot launches in Los Angeles County. Phase One of the State Hospital Outreach Initiative covers California, Nevada, and Arizona — reaching 192+ state-operated facilities. A dedicated five-stage women veterans protocol serves the dramatically underidentified population of homeless and institutionalized women veterans with trauma-informed, gender-appropriate engagement and care coordination.

We vet every organization before a veteran ever sees their name — confirming programs are real, operational, and exactly what was promised.

SPOKE THREE — HEAL: WHY THE OUTDOORS WORKS

NIH research confirms veterans report reduced PTSD symptoms after even a single day outside. A 2024 VA report found outdoor experiences measurably lower cortisol and improve emotional regulation. The Journal of Veterans Studies confirmed in 2025 that forest therapy, equine therapy, surfing, and sailing complement and amplify Prolonged Exposure therapy, CPT, EMDR, and medications.

The most powerful element is social. The greatest loss veterans report after service is the unit — the brotherhood. Research on group nature therapy found participants developed a group dynamic resembling a military unit, and that camaraderie was a critical healing component. Outdoor therapy also breaks the stigma barrier: veterans won't walk into a clinic but they will go fishing, hunting, hiking, or surfing. It asks nothing except to show up. And when they do, the healing begins.

Veterans don't just visit the outdoors — they protect it. Our growing conservancy and land stewardship initiatives give veterans an active, permanent role in preserving the wild spaces that restore them. Veterans who served the nation now serve the land — building legacies worth protecting.
