Those endeavors are tangibly noticeable in many of his signature philanthropic activations. From distribution of school supplies at the start of the school year to taking under-served youth on a shopping spree as the fall unfolds to doling out turkeys leading into Thanksgiving to providing a special surprise dinner and gifting experience for families leading into the holidays, Mathieu and his Foundation annually are making a mark in his adopted midwestern home. Likewise, though similar efforts aimed at mentorship and uplifting the youth, Mathieu has engrained himself in his native New Orleans thanks to those examples of giving back to the very same communities that reared him during his formative years.
These community efforts are activated through his Tyrann Mathieu Foundation. Throughout the years, Honey Badger himself has taken an active role to fund these efforts himself as well as to run point on multiple events aimed to helping to raise dollars. His Night of Aces efforts was held at a resort and spa in Arizona with a casino-themed feel that he and members of the Cardinals organization participated in. Traditionally held during the off-season, Mathieu brings together current and former NFL athletes along with notable New Orleans natives and celebrities across sports and entertainment together for a fun-filled afternoon kickball game in the New Orleans
community. Another popular fundraiser takes place as Mathieu and his teammates trade helmets and uniforms for plates and aprons to whisk through the crowd with table service at his signature Celebrity Waiter Night event. Celebrities and guests alike raise funds to provide assistance to low-income schools and offer youth the opportunities and resources to reach their full potential.
