The Moore Wright Group has a Purchase Agreement to purchase a total of 29 parcels in Grays Harbor County, WA. The 29 parcels include 17 SFH that would require major rehab on 2 of them and some modifications and updates on the remaining 15, 8 SFH lots that we will create new homes on, and 3 mix use lots that we would like to build 1- 50 unit 2 and 3 bed apartment homes, 1- 15 unit transitional housing shelter, and 1 commercial training and education community center, and our 44,000 sq ft warehouse that we distribute disaster relief, programs, services and tangible goods through the state of Washington. Grays Harbor County is a county that has very few resources and the amount of poverty and lack of built systems for massive change are in the works. We see this project not only as an avenue to be able to help house people, but a real thriving force to get people the skills to be able to stay housed. The homes will all be fit with all that the house needs for beds, kitchen amenities, washer and dryers, and all the hygiene items the houses need. They also will be set up as a Supportive Housing Project to connect with some of our existing partners like Molina, United Healthcare, Trueblood, DCYF to help our residents to be able to stay housed and gain skill sets to be able to stay on a path of sobriety and/ or healing.
The properties are all located in Aberdeen within 3 blocks of our current facility. The properties are rural and the market in GHC has made it hard for low income community members to be able to find, obtain, and maintain affordable housing. Being #3 in the state for poverty GHC is a location where programs like this are not just necessary but are dire. The Moore Wright Group has the purchase and sale agreement for the entire property and has until March 15, 2022 to secure funding and follow up with a close. With this funding and stop gap funding we are requesting through this as well we would be able to meet this requirement and develop the property to install shelters to be able to host an emergency shelter, and transitional housing program that would be able to have a focus on self sufficiency, and healing.
