A MOTHERS REST CHARITABLE RESPITE FOUNDATION

A Mother's Rest is the nations' first and only non-profit network of year-round respite & wellness inns for caregivers. We are a proactive health initiative designed to encourage self-care and improved health of parents and caregivers of individuals with disabilities and other extra needs. Through a national network of bed and breakfast "porch partners", we schedule 3-night respite events at various locations throughout the year. With the help of inn discounts and corporate sponsorship, we keep the costs low enough to make this respite possible. Additional financial support from private donors, churches, foundations, and in he future, state and federal grants, will make this respite possible for ALL parents. We now own TWO of our own respite inn properties, which are open year-round for caregivers every weekend. These retreats at the Terrace Guest House and Lawton Place Manor, in Maryland and North Georgia are funded entirely by private donations. Our future plans include purchasing additional historic inn properties regionally across the US, providing funding for child care/respite support, summer camp grants, employment, and residential care.
