Camp SOAR (Service Opportunity Awareness and Readiness) is a transformative two-week summer program of the Candy Bomber Foundation designed to inspire Utah’s youth to lead with character, compassion, and purpose. Anchored in the humanitarian example of Colonel Gail S. Halvorsen—the Berlin Candy Bomber—Camp SOAR helps 5th and 6th graders discover that small acts of service can lift communities and change lives. Through powerful stories of attitude, gratitude, and service before self, hands-on projects with local partners, and student-designed community action plans, participants learn to see needs, take initiative, and serve with kindness. Built on collaboration with schools and community organizations, Camp SOAR equips the next generation of leaders with the confidence, creativity, and moral courage to make a difference—one thoughtful act at a time.
