NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PGA FOUNDATION

Founded in 2007, the NCPGA Foundation strives to help people in our community through the great game of golf. Our flagship program, started in 2015, is PGA HOPE - Helping Our Patriots Everywhere - a free introductory golf program for disabled military veterans taught by PGA & LPGA Professionals. PGA HOPE teaches veterans to play golf as a rehabilitative activity to improve their physical, mental, social and emotional health. PGA HOPE is the only veteran golf program in the country recognized by the US Department of Veterans Affairs as a therapeutic tool in the recovery process for veterans.
PGA HOPE is open to all veterans and active duty service members from any of the five branches in the U.S. Armed Forces, regardless of era of service or level of disability. "If you wore the uniform, you are eligible."

The NCPGA Foundation provides these scholarships:
- Chevron-Langley Veteran Scholarship - for veterans in S.T.E.M. career path at UC Berkeley;
- Chris Thomas PGA Associate Scholarship - for Professional Golf Management Associates working through the PGM curriculum to achieve their dream of becoming Class A PGA Professionals;
- Jim Langley Scholarship - for high school graduates going on to college that have played high school golf and demonstrate the character values held high by the PGA.
