Community-based advocacy, legislative matters, and case management services for all veterans integrating into civilian life including, but not limited to the following areas:
Homeless, Transient, & Episodically Homeless Veteran Reintegration
Discharge Upgrade, Advocacy, & Legal Research for Undue Command Influence
Complaints to the Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General under 10 U.S. Code
§ 837 - Article 37
Burn Pit Identification, Risk Mitigation, & Reportable Quantity Measures under the
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, & Liability Act to enhance post
exposure claims
Veteran Offender Pre-Sentencing & Re-entry Advocacy including certificates of
employability and criminal pardons
Military Sexual Trauma Victim Impact Statements, Referrals, & Relocation/ Temporary
Housing Assistance
Preventative Health Screenings for Vision, Cardiac, and Mental Health utilizing veteran-
friendly medical service providers
Mobility assistance: Including gas cards, referrals for free power chairs, canes, walkers,
vehicle modification applications, & referrals for free and/or handicapped accessible
vehicles
Service animal assistance: Dog and cat food donations
Removal of Barriers to affordable healthcare, housing, and employment
Assistance with non-binary identification/re-identification processes at the federal and
state level, including social security number reassignment
Navigation assistance for federal, state, and local entitlement systems as well as systems
of care for distressed veteran families, to decrease years projected life lost
Alternative Medicine Advocacy included but not limited to: Cortisol screening / induction
to correct imbalances, Reiki, Cannabis as a means to kick opiate addiction, & Native
American Healing
Removal of mobility barriers due to disability infirmity, and/or poverty
Removal of geographic health disparity in rural veteran populations including but not
limited to The Navajo Nation
Removal of judicial barriers, which can serve as employment barriers, including:
Connecticut-based applications for criminal record erasure and judicial database clearing
Submissions to peer-reviewed public health journals regarding social determinants of
veteran health, building on known veteran to civilian reintegration models, while
measuring health-based outcomes for VetFuel’s participant populations
