One of our educators is an extremely experienced Montessori educator in one of our 1st to 3rd grade classrooms. Over the last two years, he has fallen in love with our school mission, and our community in Central Oregon. He wants to become an Elementary School Administrator for our school and needs to attend school to eventually obtain his Administrator's License. The Desert Sky Montessori School Board would like to provide funding for his educator; however, does not have the funds to do so. The estimated cost over 5 semesters is roughly $16,500 (about $3,300 for tuition (2025 dollars). This educator is willing to agree to serving as Administrator (or Co-Administrator) at this school for an agreed to amount of years in exchange for his education being paid for.
This educator is a male, an Army Veteran and bilingual. Prior to coming to our school, he was an educator in a Montessori school in Ecuador. In two years contributing to our school, he has already demonstrated several competencies needed to serve in an Administrators role.
It is well-known across the US that educators are predominantly female, and that recruiting educators, Administrators and Superintendents is increasing challenging. In the Montessori sector, the challenge is even greater. We need to build Administrative bench strength and we'd like to find a way to support his educational goals, as well as the goals of the School Board - sustain a School Administration team that has both the business acumen and education experience to effectively lead and sustain a non-profit, public charter school in Oregon.
