The Children's SPOT

de Saint Luke's Foundation

The Children's SPOT (Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy) opened in 1980 and has served more than 10,000 children with disabilities and developmental delays. We help children with speech, language, hearing, learning, or physical disabilities.

The Children’s SPOT is a place where children with developmental challenges can succeed. We provide early and intensive rehabilitative therapy to infants and preschool-aged children, because that's when research shows treatment will do the most good. Most of our young patients attend preschool five days a week for 2.5 hours a day. Our goal is to help children become independent and enjoy a high-quality life.

Who We Serve
-----------------------
Each year, The Children's SPOT serves more than 500 children with disabilities or developmental delays that affect their speech, learning, or physical abilities. These are often caused by:

Autism
Cerebral palsy
Down syndrome
Complications from premature birth

------------------------------------------
Rehabilitation Disguised as Fun
------------------------------------------
The Children’s SPOT is filled with natural light, brightly colored toys and a large, indoor playground. But what looks like jungle gyms, rock-climbing walls, and trampolines are actually sensory integration equipment, designed to help children build gross motor skills and improve socialization.

Financial Assistance
------------------------------
We believe that all children deserve the best possible start in life. So we accept patients regardless of their family's ability to pay. Funding for The Children’s SPOT comes from Saint Luke’s Hospital, health insurance, parents, and fundraising activities.
