Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. (Ada) was founded as a settlement house in 1919 by Ada Sophia McKinley, a schoolteacher and social reformer, who saw the need to assist veterans returning from World War I and blacks migrating from the South. Today, Ada is now one of the most trusted human services organizations in the country, serving over 10,000 people each year across 70 sites across Chicago and in Indiana and Wisconsin. Services are accessible 24-hours, 365 days a year. We care for people and communities in three primary areas of service: child development and youth services; employment and community support services; and behavioral health and clinical services. Programs include: tutoring, mentoring and college preparation and placement, foster care, residential, youth and family counseling, employment training and placement, head start and early learning.
