GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF GREATER NEW YORK AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY INC

Each year, Goodwill Industries of Greater New York and Northern New Jersey empowers thousands of individuals with disabilities or other barriers to employment to gain independence through the dignity of work. The organization has 70 programs at more than 30 sites throughout New York City, Northern New Jersey and Long Island, which are supported and supplemented by 42 retail stores that stretch as far north as Albany. 1 in 7 of Goodwill’s retail employees is an individual with a disability. Goodwill NYNJ’s programs and services empower veterans, single parents, ex-offenders, at-risk youth, low-income families, immigrants and refugees, individuals with disabilities, and individuals who are unemployed or underemployed. In addition to these stores and programs, Goodwill NYNJ keeps 100 million pounds of goods out of landfills each year, and operates a temporary staffing division, GoodTemps, which employs hundreds of individuals each week. The focus of Goodwill is “the power of work” and the values are “respect, empowerment, community, and sustainability.”
