The Resonance Collective produces interdisciplinary work combining music, dance, and theater. Our work cross-pollinates and combines the aesthetic, formalistic, and performative aspects of each discipline and distills them into new genres.
The Resonance Collective manifests this inter-disciplinary work in two ways, through public performances of work developed by members of the collective, and through classes and workshops for artists on integrative performance techniques.
Our most recent work, SAHARAVA: A Ritualized Dance-Opera, created by Fahad Siadat and Andre Megerdichian had it's premiere in Los Angeles in the LUND Dance Theatre and its East Coast premiere at the 2012 NYC International Fringe Festival. Pieces for dance and voice are planned for new works festival in the New York area including Fertile Ground.
In addition to the creation of and production of theatrical works, the Resonance Collective builds a practice methodology for performers integrating movement and vocal work. These courses are taught as classes/workshops open to the general public and income from them helps fund the productions of our work.
Future plans include educational outreach into public and private schools both teaching workshops and providing performance/lectures about the work.
