As change agents facing challenges and opportunities associated with the rapid growth of racial and ethnic minorities, William James College is home to a number of experiential learning programs that draw on students' community service experiences, pre-professional and research internships, extracurricular leadership activities, and international and inter-cultural experiences, all of which have positive impacts across the Commonwealth.

Within its Clinical Psychology program, students can focus their work through the following concentrations: African & Caribbean Mental Health (ACMH); Children & Families of Adversity & Resilience; Clinical Health Psychology; Forensic Psychology; Geropsychology; Global Mental Health; Latino Mental Health; Military & Veterans Psychology; and Neuropsychology. Its Counseling Department offers several concentrations, such as: Couples and Family Therapy; Expressive Arts Therapy; Forensic and Correctional Counseling; Health and Behavioral Medicine; and ACMH. In addition to its Doctoral program in Leadership Psychology and its Master's program in Organizational Psychology, the Organizational and Leadership Psychology Department also offers a concentration in ACMH as well as a graduate certification in Executive Coaching. Finally, the college's School Psychology Department offers both a Master's and a Psy.D. program, preparing entry level school psychologists and individuals with the advanced capabilities and credentials to pursue a wide range of professional opportunities. William James College will also offer a post-graduate certification in Applied Behavior Analysis in the Spring of 2017, developed to meet the growing need for practitioners who are knowledgeable of the principles of behavior and skilled in the development, implementation, and evaluation of behavioral interventions and designed for current or prospective practitioners in education, mental health, clinical, and other human-service settings.
