PUENTES is a bilingual (Spanish/English) experiential outdoor program for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and Latinx-identifying people. Through day outings, camping, and backpacking experiences, participants learn outdoor skills, engage in nature-based activities, and build a strong sense of community.
Our mission is to help strengthen personal connections with the natural world, community, and oneself. We aim to contribute to increased representation of BIPOC and/or Latinx folks in the outdoors and nature-based programming that is culturally and economically inclusive while centering BIPOC and Latinx joy.
The main goal of PUENTES is to break down physical and social barriers that hinder people from engaging with the outdoors while fostering an inclusive environment that brings joy, growth, and connection.
