Exculta Health and Wellness: Supporting Those Who Serve and Who Have Served

Who We Are:
Exculta Health and Wellness is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and well-being of veterans, first responders, and their families in West Central Missouri. We understand the unique challenges these individuals face, from PTSD and mental health struggles to barriers in accessing affordable care. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and community-driven approach to wellness, ensuring that those who have served our communities receive the care and resources they deserve.

Our Founding:
Exculta Health and Wellness was founded with a deep commitment to addressing the pressing health and wellness needs of those who have dedicated their lives to serving others. Recognizing the gaps in mental health and community support services, our board members, volunteers, and community partners came together to create a nonprofit focused on filling these critical needs. With initial funding from organizations like the REACH Healthcare Foundation and Health Forward Foundation, we have laid the groundwork for impactful programs and services.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to provide affordable and accessible health, wellness, and community resources to veterans, first responders, and their families. By offering holistic care, we aim to improve mental health, physical wellness, and overall quality of life, ensuring that no one in our target population struggles alone.

Our Goals:
- Expand Mental Health Services: We are actively working toward opening a mental health clinic that will provide counseling, therapy, and wellness programs tailored to veterans and first responders.
- Increase Community Outreach: Through partnerships and events, we are dedicated to raising awareness and reducing stigma around mental health and suicide prevention.
- Provide Crisis Support: Our Safe Surrender Program allows veterans and first responders in crisis to temporarily surrender their firearms in a secure, judgment-free environment, helping to prevent suicides.
- Fundraise for Sustainable Growth: Events like our upcoming Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser help us secure the resources needed to expand our services.

Current Services:
Exculta Health and Wellness is already making a significant impact through the following initiatives:
- Veterans & First Responder Support: Through targeted outreach, wellness programs, and special events like our Santa’s Holiday Heroes Extravaganza, we bring support and joy to families.
- Mental Health Advocacy: We provide resources, education, and referrals to trusted mental health professionals who understand the challenges faced by veterans and first responders.
- Safe Surrender Program: A critical suicide prevention initiative allowing those in crisis to safely and temporarily surrender their firearms.
- Community Health Worker Program: Thanks to funding from the Health Forward Foundation, we provide health navigation services, helping individuals connect with medical, mental health, and social resources.

Future Services
We are working diligently to launch:
- A Mental Health Clinic offering therapy, peer support, and wellness coaching.
Expanded Suicide Prevention Efforts with more outreach programs and crisis intervention resources.
- Holistic Health & Wellness Programs including yoga, nutrition counseling, and physical fitness tailored to veterans and first responders.
- Partnerships with Other Organizations such as Warriors’ Ascent, Veterans Community Project, and other veteran and first responder-focused nonprofits to create a network of support.
- Exculta Health and Wellness is committed to growing and adapting to meet the needs of those we serve.

With the support of our community, donors, and volunteers, we are building a future where every veteran, first responder, and their family has access to the care and resources they need to thrive.
