Beacon Glass Art's mission is to function as a community arts center focused on education, exhibitions, experiences, and cultural connectivity. In support of this mission the studio will offer classes, retreats, and studio rentals, as well as a world-class Artist-in-Residence program, capitalizing on Beacon Glass Art's gorgeous and inspiring location on Guemes Island, and drawing from the talented glassblowing community in the Pacific Northwest and internationally. Our goal in starting Beacon Glass Art is to create a small community arts center that is focused on education, art openings, experiences and cultural healing. One activity planned to foster cultural connectivity is weekend residencies for artists, where they can make their own work, have a small opening, and connect with the local community.
