Veterans Food Pantry Support Request

Western Massachusetts Veterans Support Inc. (WMVSI) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to serving the men and women who have served our country. We are working to open a dedicated Veterans Food Pantry to provide essential resources—food, clothing, and support services—to veterans and their families in need.

To make this possible, we are seeking community partners and donors to help us secure the following:

We urgently need to secure a location for the pantry in Western MA, specifically in the area off of Route 91, focusing on West Springfield, Westfield, or Chicopee.

We are seeking:
Rental assistance to help cover the cost of a suitable facility, OR
Donation of space that could serve as the home for our pantry.

Equipment – Shelving, refrigerators, freezers (new or gently used).

Transportation – A box truck or van for food pick-ups and deliveries.

Operating Costs – Utilities, insurance, and supplies to keep the pantry running year-round.

Every contribution—whether financial support, in-kind donations, or volunteer assistance—directly impacts our veterans by ensuring they and their families have reliable access to nutritious food.

Our Mission
Western Massachusetts Veterans Support Inc. (WMVSI) is dedicated to supporting the brave men and women who have served, or are currently serving, our country.

We provide essential resources to military personnel and veterans in Western Massachusetts, including food, clothing, comfort care, and other necessities. Our commitment is to honor their service by easing the challenges they face and improving their quality of life.

Since 2022, WMVSI has partnered with Barnes Air Base, Westover Air Base, the Springfield Armory, local Veteran Service Officers, and other veteran organizations to ensure our heroes have the support they need. Each month, we assist over 1,000 veterans and their families with critical items that allow them to continue their service and maintain stability at home.

Our Next Goal
We are working toward opening a veterans’ storefront in Western Massachusetts, where veterans and their families will be able to shop once a week at no cost for groceries, personal care items, and clothing. This storefront will help offset the rising cost of living and provide a lasting resource for those who have given so much.
