The objectives and purposes of the PRA are to operate exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes related to 141 Pelham Street, Newport, RI. The corporation is dedicated to: a. restore and conserve the Parkgate Estate at 141 Pelham Street. b. restore landscaping and horticultural improvements at the site. c. increase public appreciation of this location and its historic significance d. increase access of the community to this historic site.

The Parkgate Estate houses the Newport Elks Lodge #104-
Charities the Elks currently support are: a local Boy Scout Troop, local Hoop Shoot Program, high school scholarships, Special Needs Children Program, Blood Drives, Newport Fire Prevention Program, R.I. Veterans Home in Bristol, the Providence Canteen (providing food/beverage to first responders during times of crisis), Alzheimer's Association, American Heart Association, Martin Luther King Center, Newport County Mental Health, St. Joseph’s Food Pantry, Salvation Army, Angel Tree (Christmas Gifts for local youths), Night to Shine (Tim Tebow Foundation) - providing dresses for special needs attendees, and “Say Yes to the Dress” - free prom dresses for needy local girls
