COOK FOR VETS INC

Joining together to bring Veteran food insecurity to light is the first major step we as a collective can take to be a stronghold in the community. We are a movement of Souls Feeding Souls ready and willing to prepare, cook, box up, and deliver meals to Veterans in need. Spreading awareness of our mission will hopefully inspire a community of like-minded individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of Veterans. The sacrifices our service members have made to defend our freedoms must serve as an ongoing reminder of the great struggles many of them are faced with today. Our best way of saying thank you for their service is to get busy feeding those facing hunger. Whether an active duty service member, a housebound, older or disabled Veteran, a Veteran who suffered a job loss or one coping with mental health challenges related to their service, recognition of their plight warrants our attention. Cook For Vets volunteers will begin cooking meals in January of 2023 and will begin meal delivery on Saturday afternoon on a monthly basis to three Veterans. The delivery includes Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition, to support sustained nutrition for the week, a bag of groceries will be included. Fully operational will reflect delivering meals to approximately twenty-five Veterans by late Spring and one hundred Veterans by the end of 2023. Our goal is to become a driving force for making a difference in many Veterans’ lives. As I honor my father’s memory, I am guided along the way knowing his service in the Navy inspires responsibility on my part to be an agent for change. There isn’t a more important time to join the movement of Souls Feeding Souls than now!
