The National Center for Veterans Studies was founded in 2010 and quickly established itself as a national leader for military and veterans suicide prevention and mental health. The mission of the National Center for Veterans Studies is to engage in research, education, outreach, and advocacy for improving the lives of military personnel, veterans, and their families. This mission is achieved in part by providing state-of-the-art psychological treatment to military personnel, veterans, first responders, and family members, many of whom do not have easy access to effective mental healthcare services in their local communities. These treatments are provided at no-cost, and use methods and procedures that are proven scientifically to prevent suicidal behaviors and associated mental health conditions.
