An award of $500 is presented annually to the scholar who presents the best paper at an academic seminar, with a bluegrass music-related topic. Graduate students are welcome to apply. The award is accompanied by complimentary registration at the annual Business Conference of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), plus a ticket to the IBMA Bluegrass Music Awards Show. The award is named after Bluegrass Hall of Famer Dr. Neil Rosenberg, a well-known bluegrass historian, author, and educator.
