CampV is a unique non-profit organization built out of the need for Veteran services and resources in East Texas. By integrating Veteran resources into one convenient location, we can serve the needs of East Texas Veterans and their families. Having the resources consolidated helps to reduce the dual stress of 1) identifying what resources are available, and 2) knowing where to find them. Any Veteran, active-duty, spouse or family member can find the assistance they need and deserve at CampV. This includes claim assistance, financial assistance, counseling, various therapies, legal assistance, employment assistance, peer activities, and additional resources and benefits. We have built a new model for Veteran care and created a new category for Veteran resources.
The best way to experience CampV is to visit our 20-acre campus and see firsthand how we are positively affecting Veterans’ lives. In 2020, our first full year of operation, we serviced the needs of 300 Veterans for the year. In 2022, we assisted an average of 340 Veterans a month. In 2023, that increased to an average of 525 Veterans a month! We are already averaging over 600/month for 2024. This is only possible through the overwhelming support from the East Texas community. Trying to actually describe CampV is challenging, as we provide resources for so many Veteran needs at one central location. Located on 20 acres in Tyler, the multiple buildings include:
Resource Center (includes offices of TX Workforce Commission, Andrews Center, Veteran Caregivers, Purple Hearts, Veteran Advocates, Humana, Anam Cara Wellness and CampV staff)
Green Zone/Recreation Center (Rally Point Lunch every Tuesday; average 100/week)
Women’s Center (provides for female Veterans, or spouses of Veterans, and their children)
Fitness Center
Smith County VSO Headquarters
Equine Therapy/Stables
Chapel/Fellowship Hall (current Capital Campaign)
With our rapid growth and expansion comes the continued need for funding. This includes partnering with East Texas foundations, companies, and organizations, and through individual donations. We have ongoing operational needs, specific projects and programs that need funding, as well as sponsorship opportunities for our annual airshow, the Rose City Airfest.
I encourage folks to visit CampV and see firsthand the impact we are having on East Texas Veterans. I am available to you or anyone in your organization to answer questions or assist. Thank you for your time!
